The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors - Online Member Portal

The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors is the gathering place for Realtors in Northeast Florida. NEFAR in addition to providing a voice for the real estate community in Northeast Florida, provides extensive support, industry information and training to its membership, and is also home to the extensive directory of homes for sale across the country; the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) Listings.

Their Request: NEFAR needed to completely overhaul their current web site with a new design based on it's recently enhanced "Brand", combine a series of individual private member services web sites, and seamlessly integrate the MLS listings so that members and the public could use and access the many services it provides from a single domain.

Our Solution: We began with a complex plan that would bring all of the individual web sites under a common domain. We next worked with a third party vendor to integrate a "Single-Sign-On" solution that would allow members to access all of these sites via a single login. The design of the site would need to carry through the new look and feel of the association and offer a site wide dynamic method of presenting all of the "Member Areas" automatically on all pages after a member logged in, without disrupting the presentation of the public areas. This was accomplished with a combination of Java Script and PHP. The association also wished to include banner advertising for its members which was accomplished with a php based banner advertising platform integrated into the site. And lastly, the entire platform would need to be hosted in geographically redundant locations. The primary platform would be located with BoomClient and the secondary platform would be located at NEFAR. We then wrote script and configured firewalls and high speed Internet access that would allow the primary platform to completely duplicate itself on the back platform every 24 hours.

The Result: NEFAR has a very sophisticated new web site designed to serve the real estate informational needs of the public and the extensive needs and support of its membership. The site is loaded with information that can be accessed seamlessly by it members. NEFAR is also able to update all areas and pages of the site with a very friendly content management system that allows them to keep the site current with the latest industry news, information, events.
