UniteNET brings volunteers and non-profits together
UniteNET announced today that it is nearing completion of its new community volunteer portal. According to Cole Slate the company's founder and president, the new portal is designed to fill a void that has existed for many years. More specifically, UniteNET is a web based application that allows non-profits, churches, and other organizations and events to post events they need volunteer assistance with. These events are then matched to volunteers who create an account at UniteNET based on their preferences and what they like to volunteer for.
While there are other sites online that provide a similar service, UniteNET takes things a few steps further. UniteNET also offers volunteers the ability to automatically track community service hours simply by registering to volunteer for an event. The organization who hosts the event simply approves each volunteer's hours after the event giving volunteers an organized log of all of their community service hours which can then be automatically sent to anyone they may need to inform of their volunteer activity.
"Our goal is for UniteNET to become the standard for college students and other volunteers who are required to perform community service hours" said Slate last week while speaking at the University of Florida in Gainesville. "All they have to do is create and account, select the activities they enjoy volunteering for, and UniteNET will automatically match them up to the things they like to do in their area. It even keeps track of the hours they have volunteered for. UniteNET is the complete solution for college students and others who are required to log community service hours".
